Inside a Communication Thread

The thread header, participants, replies, and how the creator resolves, closes, and reopens a thread.

Open any inbox entry to view the thread.

The header and participants

The header shows the subject with its status badges (Announcement, For Action, Resolved, Closed, Expired), "From sender ยท date and time", and, for announcements, the expiry date.

Below it, the participants bar groups everyone by role: Sender, the To recipients, Validators, and CC, shown as avatars with online dots, followed by the participant count. Add people lets you bring someone in later, choosing their role: Recipient, Validator, or CC. Announcements have no participants bar.

Replies

The reply composer at the bottom offers the same rich-text editing and attachments as the compose form (up to 25 MB per file), including drag and drop. While others type, a typing indicator appears; under the latest message, "Seen by โ€ฆ" lists who has read it.

Messages in the thread support:

  • Reactions: the compact set ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘Ž ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ˜• โค๏ธ ๐Ÿš€ ๐Ÿ‘€. Tap a reaction to see who reacted.
  • Editing: your own messages, once each. An Edited marker reveals the original.
  • Attachments: only the first is shown at first; the rest are behind a "+N more attachment" toggle.

Announcements cannot be replied to. Once an announcement expires it shows "This announcement has expired and is now read-only."

Thread status (creator only)

Only the thread creator moves a thread through its lifecycle. These buttons sit at the top right of the thread and are not offered on announcements.

ActionWhen it is available
ResolveOn a For Action thread, when every action item has been validated or cancelled. On a plain (non-action) thread, any time. While the gate is not met the button is disabled, and its tooltip explains: "All action items must be validated before this thread can be resolved."
Close ThreadWhen all action items have been cancelled. The thread ends without completion.
ReopenReopens a resolved or closed thread for further discussion or new action items.

A resolved or closed thread is locked: it no longer accepts replies, reactions, edits, or action-item activity. Other participants see "This thread is resolved and read-only until the creator reopens it." (or, for a closed thread, "This thread was closed by the sender after all action items were cancelled.").

Archive and Restore (everyone)

Archiving is personal: it moves the thread into your Archived folder and does not affect anyone else's inbox. Archive is offered to every participant once a thread is locked: resolved, closed, or an expired announcement. Restore brings it back out of the Archived folder.
