The Communications Inbox
Formal, trackable threads with recipients, action items, and a lifecycle.
Click Inbox in the sidebar to open Communications. Where Messenger is a running conversation, a communication is a formal thread with a defined sender, recipients, a subject, optional action items, and a lifecycle that ends in resolved, closed, or archived.
Folders
| Folder | Contains |
|---|---|
| Open | Active threads awaiting replies or action items. |
| Resolved | Threads whose work is complete and validated. |
| Cancelled | Threads closed without completion. |
| Archived | Threads you have filed away. |
Each row shows an unread dot, the subject (bold while unread), status badges, the message count, and how long ago the last activity was.
Bulk actions sit at the top of the list: Mark all read in the Open folder, and Archive all in the Resolved and Cancelled folders.
Announcements
A communication can also be an announcement: a broadcast from the sender with an expiry date and no back-and-forth discussion. Once expired it becomes read-only.
A Communications announcement is a single broadcast thread in your inbox. It is different from a Messenger announcement channel, where only admins can post.
Who can send
Any signed-in user can start a communication: use the New message button at the top right of the inbox, or the pen icon next to Inbox in the sidebar. See Composing a communication.
