Searching messages across a workspace and jumping straight to a specific message.
Searching messages
Click the magnifier icon (Search messages) at the top of the sidebar to open the Search messages dialog. Search covers the whole workspace you are in: every channel you can read plus your own conversations. Private channels you do not belong to are never included.
Type at least two characters. Each result shows the channel or conversation, the sender, and the date and time. If there are many matches, only the most recent are shown; refine your search to narrow them.
Click a result: EOMIS opens the conversation and scrolls directly to that message, loading older history if needed. A Jump to present pill takes you back to the latest messages.
Jumping to a message
The same deep-linking works from several places:
- a search result,
- a pinned message in a channel's or DM's Pinned list,
- the quoted message in a DM quote reply.
In each case the feed navigates to the exact message, even if it is far back in history.
